From today's Kranz column in the Argus Leader:
Daschle became the subject of unprecedented attacks. Out-of-state interests promised to destroy him. They got personal with him. Web sites characterized him as the devil.
Really? I'd really like to have the link to that site Dave. I missed it. Did anyone see this site? Kranz continues:
Daschle's organization was good, but flaws emerged. He agreed to far too many debates, allowing voters to see too often the disdain the two men had for each other.
Yeah, that's it. It was Daschle's "disdain" that cost him the debates. How about the fact that he got hammered on the issues and his votes? The entire premise of Kranz's column seems fundamentally flawed. The reality is that the truth finally caught up to Daschle. The chickens came home. He wasn't the candidate he was in 1986.
