The House of Representatives voted 227-186 today in favor the Federal Marriage Amendment, which was short of the 2/3 needed for passage. South Dakota Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth (D) voted in FAVOR of the amendment. Yesterday's Argus Leader reported on a poll saying that 63% of South Dakotans supported the Federal Marriage Amendment. Daschle opposes the Federal Marriage Amendment. Thune favors it.
