Daschle Skipping Debates to Gather More $

It turns out that instead of showing up for the debate with Thune yesterday in Pierre, Daschle was at a FUNDRAISER HOSTED BY TRIAL LAWYERS IN MISSISSIPPI. So much for him being so busy he can't debate in South Dakota in August--he's flitting around the Hamptons and Oxford, Mississippi grabbing liberal interest group money. This is democracy in Daschle-land: spend $15 million flooding the airwaves with mindless tv ads and avoid showing up for any actual live debate over the issues.
