Today's Argus Leader includes a front page AP story about a planet Mercury probe. Great, I'm all for space stories. But they could have run the AP story entitled “Thune accuses Daschle of ducking debates.” You know, like the San Jose Mercury News and the Miami Herald did! But they didn't. Instead, Dave Kranz, in his column entitled "Thune, Daschle to debate on 'Meet the Press,'" makes it sound like the whole debate plan is falling into place quite nicely. "A fuller debate schedule is coming together," Kranz writes. Oh, please. What about the 20 debates that Daschle won't participate in!
Sibby notes that the Mitchell Daily Republic ran the AP story on the front page. You see, it's not that hard to pull a piece off the wire. Sibby adds:
So while the MDR covered the issue brought forward by the Thune press release, the Argus Leader let Daschle's long-time friend from college, David Kranz, provide the spin.
That's about the size of it.
