Quentin Riggins was at the Republican convention this weekend and then read the Sunday Kranz column to find none of the interesting happenings reported. Obviously, Kranz had a lot to choose from, given the amazing tribute to former Senator Abdnor, among other things. Quentin thinks that the Kranz "column today is more evidence of his biased journalism." He is referring to the fact that Kranz picked a line out of a Thune fundraising letter sent nationally to report on. Kranz has said in the past that 'I don't report on fundraisers,' but obviously what he meant to say is that 'I don't report on Democratic fundraisers and fundraising letters that may hurt Senator Daschle.' Quentin also notes that while Kranz is heaping blame on Thune for the tone the race might take he obviously ignores the Daschle race-baiting which took place earlier in the week. Kranz also could have done a lot with the Michael Moore premier that Daschle attended, but then again that would not have helped Daschle so he didn't. He also could have reported on the Roll Call and Washington Times stories about Daschle crushing dissent in DC, but he didn't do that either. And remember when Kranz recently noted how he got lots of information from Thune supporters for his column, but today he doesn't mention how he got his hands on a fundraising letter sent nationally. Do you suppose the Daschle campaign gave it to him? Of course they did, silly. And now the Daschle campaign will link to the Kranz column on their blog and mention the Kranz column in their emails and fundraising appeals.
