Daschle's New Ad

I just saw Daschle's new ad (on the day he reversed his plan to travel to Iraq) promoting--I'm not making this up--the "America First" line. It's right out of book of 1930s isolationism. Karl Mundt would be proud. At a critical moment in the international war on terror and the reconstruction of Iraq, when the nation is discussing former President Reagan's effort to restore American power in the world and the ultimate collapse of communism, Daschle turns to demogogic "America First" rhetoric. It's irresponsible. And a sign of desperation.
